Meet your tour guide and driver in your hotel lobby, then head directly to Badaling Great Wall (1.5-hour drive). Your friendly guide will share fascinating histories and stories along the way—feel free to ask any questions!
Upon arrival, skip the hassle with our VIP access: park at a dedicated lot (no public shuttle bus required!) and bypass the 1–2 hour queues for shuttles (common in both peak and off-peak seasons). Take the exclusive priority cable car straight to the Great Wall—zero waiting, saving you precious time.
As you step onto the wall, your guide will brief you on Badaling’s rich history. Explore ancient watchtowers, majestic battlements, and panoramic mountain views with your guide, who will share insights into its architectural ingenuity and historical significance. You’ll also have free time to wander independently, capture photos, or soak in the grandeur at your own pace.
After a delicious local lunch, proceed to the Ming Tombs—a UNESCO-listed complex of 13 imperial mausoleums, with 3 currently open to visitors (Dingling, Changling, and Zhaoling). You can freely choose between Dingling or Changling for your guided tour:
Dingling (Our Top Recommendation): Follow your guide through the only fully excavated underground palace of the Ming Tombs, where you’ll explore five interconnected chambers housing the sarcophagi of Emperor Wanli and his two empresses. Your guide will explain the imperial burial system, the symbolism of the palace’s layout, and the stories behind the rare cultural relics (on display in the attached museum) that reveal the prosperity of the Ming Dynasty.
Changling: Accompanied by your guide, visit the largest and best-preserved mausoleum of the complex, built for Emperor Yongle (founder of the Ming Dynasty’s Beijing capital). Explore the grand Ling’en Hall—known as the “Forbidden City of the Tombs”—with its towering nanmu pillars and intricate carvings. Your guide will share the emperor’s legacy, the mausoleum’s architectural design, and the historical context of its construction spanning over 20 years.
After the tour, you’ll be transferred back to your Beijing hotel.
