First Stop: Tian'anmen Square
Meet your tour guide in the lobby of your downtown hotel. Start your tour from Tian'anmen Square—one of the world’s largest public squares. Wander around&admire iconic landmarks from outside including the Great Hall of the People, the Monument to the People’s Heroes, the National Museum of China etc.
Core Attraction: Forbidden City Exploration
Continue to the Forbidden City and explore its key courtyards, grand halls along the central axis, and the elegant Imperial Garden. Your guide will share fascinating stories about the historical functions and architectural highlights of these magnificent buildings.
Houhai Hutong Experience
Package 1 (Walking Tour): After the Forbidden City, embark on a 1-hour walking tour of Houhai Hutongs. Wander through the ancient alleys surrounding Houhai, listen to your guide’s introduction to the area’s history, and soak up the authentic old Beijing atmosphere. Transportation to and from the hotel is at your own expense.
Package 2 (Private Car Transfer): Enjoy door-to-door round-trip private car service for a hassle-free journey.
Package 3 (Rickshaw Tour+Private Car Transfer): After the Forbidden City, head to Houhai Hutongs and start a 20-minute rickshaw ride+round-trip private car service. Glide through the quiet alleys, admire the traditional courtyard houses (Siheyuan), and listen to the guide’s commentary on the area’s history.
Package 4 (Plus Temple of Heaven): After the 1-hour Houhai Hutong exploration (walking mode), proceed to Temple of Heaven—China’s largest imperial sacrificial complex. Important Information
- 1: After successful booking, please provide each guest’s full name and passport number for Forbidden City ticket reservation. A valid passport must be carried on the tour day for entry
- 2: Security checks at Tiananmen Square are rigorous. If waiting time exceeds 1 hour, we recommend a bus tour of the square instead. Note that the square may close unannounced for official events — in such cases, the visit will be replaced with a bus tour of the square instead
- 3: This tour is not suitable for travelers with physical/visual impairments or limited mobility
- 4: Chinese citizens (including those from Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan) must book 7 days in advance. As required by regulations, submit your full Chinese name and ID number during reservation, and present your ID on the tour day to join
