Description

Huanghuacheng Water Great Wall is one of the few sections of the Wall in China that combine with water and mountain. It is grand and majestic on the steep mountain ridges and goes along the scenic Haoming Lake. This part of the Wall has historically been the northern gate of ancient Beijing City and also the important entrance to the Ming Tombs. Huanghuacheng was built from 1404 to 1592 and divided into three parts by a reservoir. Different from the main tourist sections of the Great Wall at Mutianyu and Badaling, normally there are only a handful of tourists. Guided Tour Meet your guide at the hotel lobby and drive about 1.5-2 hours to see the Great Wall at Huanghuacheng. It is one of the most ruined sections of the Great Wall in Beijing and connects to Badaling Great Wall in the west and Mutianuyu Great Wall in the east. You will first take a boat to appreciate the beauty of the Wall combined with water; then cross the Ming Chestnut Orchard to get on the actual Wall. After hiking on the Wall, you will take a speed boat to leave Huanghuacheng. Then drive back Beijing to see the Ming City Wall, the last remaining, and restored section of the Ming City Wall once encircled Beijing. Go up the Southeast Corner Watchtower to see exhibitions, which is the largest arrow tower existing in China with 144 windows.
