Next, proceed to the Forbidden City, the world’s largest and best-preserved imperial palace complex. This UNESCO World Heritage Site features 9,999.5 rooms and a history of over 600 years. It once served as the residence and political center for 24 emperors of the Ming and Qing dynasties. You will spend several hours exploring the iconic highlights of this magnificent landmark with your professional guide.
After the Forbidden City visit, you will have one hour for lunch at your own expense at a local restaurant near the Mutianyu Great Wall area.
In the afternoon, continue to Mutianyu Great Wall, one of the most beautiful and well-preserved sections of this world wonder. Enjoy around 2.5 hours of relaxed hiking on this less-crowded segment. The Great Wall entrance ticket is included. Cable car, chairlift, and slideway rides are optional extras, which can be purchased on-site at your own cost.
