Description
Start your day by visiting the Temple of Heaven, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Built in 1420 during the Ming Dynasty, this is the largest imperial sacrificial complex in the world. For nearly 500 years, Ming and Qing emperors worshipped heaven and prayed for good harvests here.
Explore iconic structures like the Hall of Prayer for Good Harvests, a 38-meter-tall wooden masterpiece, the Circular Mound Altar, and the Imperial Vault of Heaven, set in serene pine gardens.
In the evening, head to the Red Theatre for a spectacular 1-hour acrobatic performance. Performed by China’s top acrobats, the show features award-winning acts like “Double Skill” (gold medal at Paris Acrobatic Festival), “Top Bowl,” and gravity-defying balancing and aerial stunts.
Suitable for all ages, the performance blends traditional Chinese artistry with modern choreography.
It takes about 12-15 minutes to walk from the east gate of Temple of Heaven to the Red Theater.
