Description

Step beyond a standard Great Wall excursion and take part in a back-to-basics overnight designed especially for travelers with little or no camping experience. This is a hands-on outdoor workshop rather than simply arriving at a prepared tent. With support from your English-speaking guide, learn how to set up your shelter, prepare your sleeping system, move safely around camp after dark, and leave the site responsibly the next morning. Private pickup within Beijing’s 4th Ring Road and transfer to the designated meeting point. After arrival, receive a practical mountain-safety briefing and follow your guide on a scheduled hike through part of the selected Great Wall landscape. Expect steps, mountain paths, and uneven surfaces. The guide sets a suitable pace and may adjust the walking route for daylight, weather, access, group ability, or safety. Enjoy an included local specialty dinner in the nearby mountain area, with its timing arranged around seasonal daylight. At the designated campsite, take part in a guided camp-setup session. Learn to assemble your tent, position the camping mat, prepare the sleeping bag, organize essential belongings, use your light after dark, and remain within the safe campsite boundary. As evening settles over the ridges, watch for sunset when weather and visibility allow. Then spend a simple, back-to-basics night in the tent you helped prepare, away from Beijing’s city lights and usual sightseeing rhythm. This experience is intended for travelers who value participation, mountain atmosphere, and an authentic outdoor night more than hotel-style comfort. Wake before or around dawn for the opportunity to see sunrise over the mountains. After an included Chinese breakfast, learn how to pack the tent and sleeping equipment, check the campsite, and leave without litter. Return to Beijing by shared coach after completing the morning pack-down. The exact Great Wall section and designated campsite are selected according to group size, campsite availability, weather, access, and safety. The confirmed operating area is provided before departure, while the core hands-on camping experience remains the same.
