Experience one of Beijing's most spectacular day-to-night journeys, combining a breathtaking Great Wall sunset, the lantern-lit charm of Gubei Water Town, and the unforgettable atmosphere of China's only officially open night Great Wall.
Your journey begins with hotel pickup at around 1:00 PM, followed by a scenic drive to Jinshanling Great Wall, one of the most beautiful and less-crowded sections of the Ming Great Wall. Arriving in the afternoon allows plenty of time to walk between restored and original watchtowers, admire sweeping mountain views, and reach the best viewpoints before sunset. As golden light falls across the ancient Wall, enjoy one of the most memorable photography moments near Beijing.
Around 6:45 PM, continue to Gubei Water Town, where traditional architecture, quiet canals, stone bridges, and glowing lanterns create a magical evening atmosphere. Stroll through lively streets lined with cafés, local restaurants, craft shops, and seasonal cultural experiences, including traditional performances, drone shows, handicraft demonstrations, and winter hot springs (subject to season and operating schedule).
The evening continues with Simatai Great Wall, the only section of the Great Wall officially open for night visits. Ride the included round-trip cable car and enjoy breathtaking nighttime views as the illuminated Wall winds across the mountain ridges above Gubei Water Town.
