Description

Begin your VIP tour with a convenient pickup from your hotel in Beijing. Travel to the Huanghua cheng Water Great Wall, a lesser-known section of the Great Wall of China, and enjoy a more relaxed and comfortable experience away from the crowds. Admire the stunning scenery as you explore this unique section of the wall, which was originally part of the Ming Dynasty's inner Great Wall. Learn about its historical significance as an important pass protecting the capital and the Ming Dynasty's thirteen imperial mausoleums. See the West Water Valley Reservoir, which raised the water level, causing three sections of the Great Wall to sink into the Hua Ming Lake. This creates a unique underwater Great Wall landscape, the only one in Beijing connected to a lake. Marvel at the Ming Great Wall as it winds and twists along the mountain ridge, surrounding the Hua Ming Lake. Admire the steep city wall and numerous watchtowers, considered the most exquisite section of the Ming Great Wall. Take in the breathtaking views of the lake, which naturally separates the three sections of the Great Wall, with half of the wall on the mountain and the other half submerged in the blue waves. Capture the perfect photo of the city wall and its clear reflections in the water, making it the most classic spot for tourists in the scenic area. Explore the quiet valley, filled with wild beauty, as you discover the canyon, streams, waterfalls, and clear ponds. See the scattered cliffs and steep rocks, adding to the natural charm of this hidden gem. Visit the mausoleum complex, the only imperial tomb among the Ming Tombs that has its underground palace open to the public. The tomb's owner was Emperor Wanli Zhu Yijun, the 13th emperor of the Ming Dynasty. He reigned for 48 years and was the longest-reigning emperor of the Ming Dynasty. Learn about the trial excavation of the Dingling in May 1956. At first, it was repeatedly frustrated due to a lack of experience. It was not until the inscribed stele was unearthed, which read 'This stele is 16 zhang and 10 feet away from the Golden Wall and 3 zhang and 5 feet deep', that the archaeological team finally found the Golden Wall of the underground palace, which was the famous trapezoidal opening shown in the documentary. After removing the first brick, a puff of black smoke emerged from the opening. Everyone fled in all directions in terror. After returning and discussing, they decided to put a live chicken inside. The next day, it was found that the chicken was unharmed, and they were finally able to enter the underground palace. Thus, that chicken became the first living creature to enter the underground palace during the archaeological excavation.
