Optional spots cover Qianmen Street, bustling Houhai, Beijing CBD night skyline, ancient Drum and Bell Towers, and Jingshan Park with panoramic Forbidden City night views.
General Food Tasting Experience (All 3 Packages)
After meeting your guide, you will wander through the bustling 600-meter Niujie snack street to explore authentic local delicacies. Most tastings are casual roadside street food that you can grab and eat on the spot. We will also stop at 2-3 time-honored local shops for comfortable sit-down dining, and visit a local Muslim halal supermarket to learn about characteristic local specialty ingredients and snacks.
The rich tasting menu covers classic Beijing and halal specialties: grilled lamb skewers, red date glutinous rice cake, soybean powder rice rolls, pea cake, crispy fried cakes, baodu spicy tripe noodles, and traditional door nail meat pies. For adventurous food lovers, you can also try the iconic local Beijing drink – fermented mung bean juice (douzhi), a unique local flavor favored by native Beijingers.
