Description
Join us on a different tour of the Forbidden City, designed for those who want to understand much more than just the names of its palaces. During the visit, you'll discover how the architecture, protocol, and daily life of the imperial court came together to create the political and cultural heart of China for more than five centuries.
We'll start at the Gate of Supreme Harmony and tour the grand ceremonial spaces, such as the Hall of Supreme Harmony, the Hall of Central Harmony, and the Hall of Preservation of Harmony, where you'll learn about the meaning of imperial ceremonies and the symbolism of each building.
One of the most special highlights of this experience is the visit to the Museum of Imperial Furniture, a space that many tours don't include. Here you'll discover how the court's furniture, materials, and objects reflected the rank, power, and lifestyle of the emperors and their families.
We'll then enter the imperial residence to visit the Palace of Heavenly Purity, the Palace of Union and Peace, the Palace of Earthly Tranquility, and the Chuxiu Palace, where you'll learn stories about the imperial family, the empresses, the concubines, and private life inside the palace.
We'll end the tour in the Imperial Garden, a space that combines nature, architecture, and symbolism, perfect for understanding how the emperors found balance and rest within the Forbidden City.
More than a simple visit to the main monuments, this experience will help you interpret the Forbidden City from a historical, architectural, and cultural perspective, discovering details and stories that often go unnoticed on conventional tours.
