Description
Enjoy a carefully paced seven-day private journey for two adults, with three nights in Beijing and three in Shanghai. The standard option includes 4-star hotels, one twin or double room for two with breakfast, second-class Beijing–Shanghai high-speed rail, private air-conditioned cars and local English-speaking guides on the four sightseeing days only. Day 1 — Beijing arrival: A driver meets you at Beijing Capital or Daxing Airport and takes you to your Beijing hotel. The rest of the day is free; no guide is scheduled. Day 2 — Imperial Beijing: With your guide, visit Tiananmen Square, the Forbidden City's main halls and Jingshan Park for views over the palace complex. Guide and car service are scheduled for approximately eight hours. Lunch and dinner are at your own expense. Day 3 — Mutianyu Great Wall: Travel by private car to Mutianyu. Use the included scenic shuttle and round-trip cable car, then walk a section suited to your comfort and the weather. Stop at Olympic Park for exterior views of the Bird's Nest and Water Cube. Guide and car service are scheduled for approximately ten hours. Meals are at your own expense. Day 4 — Beijing to Shanghai: Your driver transfers you from the Beijing hotel to Beijing South Station. Board the included high-speed train to Shanghai Hongqiao in second class. A Shanghai driver meets you there and transfers you to your Shanghai hotel. The remaining time is free; no guide is scheduled. Day 5 — Old Shanghai and river lights: Explore Yu Garden and the Old City/City God Temple area, then Nanjing Road and the Bund. After dinner at your own expense, take the included standard evening sightseeing cruise on the Huangpu River. Guide and car service are scheduled for approximately ten hours. Day 6 — Streets and skyline: Walk Wukang Road and parts of the former French Concession, see Xintiandi and Lujiazui, and visit Shanghai Tower's 118th-floor observation deck. Guide and car service are scheduled for approximately ten hours. Meals are at your own expense. Day 7 — Shanghai departure: After breakfast and free time, a private driver transfers you from the hotel to Shanghai Pudong or Hongqiao Airport at a time coordinated with your flight. No guide is scheduled. The final hotels, train seats and times are confirmed after booking and depend on availability; comparable hotels may be substituted. The Forbidden City normally closes on Mondays except certain holidays and requires a real-name passport reservation. Weather, maintenance, traffic and official controls may require reasonable changes. Bring the original passport used for reservations and comfortable shoes.
