The Terracotta Army was constructed to accompany the tomb of China's First Emperor as an afterlife guard. There are thousands of detailed life-size terracotta soldier models represent the guard troops of the first emperor — Qin Shihuang. The original site was found by four local farmers while drilling a well in 1974. Since the discovery of the Terracotta Army, more than 2,000 warriors and horses have been excavated from three different burial pits with an estimated 6,000 still buried underground. Follow your private guide through the pits one, two, and three, spend 2-3 hours exploring this world-famous archaeological site. If you want to stop for lunch just let your tour guide know, depending on your time, guide will recommend where to go at your own cost.
