Tiananmen Square is the largest city center square in the world and a symbol of Beijing. Tiananmen Square is located in the heart of Beijing. Tian'anmen Square is located at the intersection of the central axis of Beijing, the capital of the People's Republic of China, and Chang'an Avenue. Tiananmen was designed by Kuai Xiang and began construction in the 15th year of the Ming Yongle reign (1417). It was completed in the 18th year of the Ming Yongle reign (1420) and was named Chengtian Gate at that time. After multiple constructions of various sizes, Anmen gradually took on its current form.
