Meet your tour guide in the lobby of your downtown hotel, hop aboard a comfortable air-conditioned vehicle, heading directly to your first stop: the cute pandas.
Here you can find different pandas playing, eating, sleeping at the Panda Garden. Follow your tour guide, who will share loads of fun panda facts—from their quirky eating habits to their conservation stories—as you explore the area.
Move on to the Summer Palace where you can find picturesque pavilions, bridges, lakes and courtyards. The Summer Palace was the royal retreat for emperors fleeing the suffocating summer torpor of the old imperial city and later was the retirement playground of Empress Dowager Cixi. Your knowledgeable tour guide will tailor the commentary to your pace—no rushing, just leisurely exploration as you discover the most important halls and courtyards: Hall of Benevolence and Longevity, Hall of Joy and Longevity, Hall of Jade Billows, Long Corridor, Marble Boat and more.
After lunch in the restaurant, move on to the Temple of Heaven. Not really a single temple, the Temple of Heaven is an altar complex with a history dating back to the early 15th century. It is the largest existing complex of ancient sacrificial buildings in China, a masterpiece of royal sacrificial architecture and one of the best symbolic illustrations of Chinese cosmology.
Follow your guide to visit the key attractions, including the iconic Hall of Prayer for Good Harvests. Join your guide to experience the Echo Wall—a fascinating architectural wonder where whispers travel across distances—and head to the Circular Mound Altar to hear the story of the Heavenly Heart Stone, learning how emperors of the Ming and Qing Dynasties communicated with the heavens during grand sacrificial rituals.
Next, make your way over to the Pearl Market and shop for some souvenirs such as clothing, leather, jewelry, and electronics.
After the tour, you will be transferred back to your hotel in Beijing.
