Meet your private guide at your hotel. Take subway to Tiananmen Square (guide shares its history). Then enter the Forbidden City through its South Gate to explore the 250-acre imperial complex. Visit must-see sites and your guide will explain the architectural symbolism of the palace and details of imperial daily life here.
Next, take the subway to the Temple of Heaven—a sacred site once used by Ming and Qing emperors for annual Heaven-worshipping ceremonies. Stroll through the gardens with your guide. Explore the park’s core courtyards, where your guide will share stories of imperial worship rituals. The tour ends at the Temple of Heaven.
