For 10+ hours layover (PEK) / 12+ hours layover (PKX): Option 1: Mutianyu Great Wall + Summer Palace. Visit the UNESCO-listed Mutianyu Great Wall (1.5hrs drive from PEK, 2.5hrs from PKX) and the Summer Palace, with all tickets included, food and cable car at your own cost. Option 2: Mutianyu Great Wall + Temple of Heaven. Explore Mutianyu Great Wall first, then head to the Temple of Heaven (all tickets included, food and cable car at your own cost). Not open for Monday, and nearby Pearl Market is available for souvenir shopping. Option 5: Mutianyu Great Wall + Customized City Attractions. After Mutianyu Great Wall, choose one downtown spot to visit such as Temple of Heaven, Summer Palace, Lama Temple, Coal Hill Park etc. Tickets for Great Wall + one spot in downtown included, except Forbidden City—book/pay for it 7 days in advance, food and cable car at your own cost. Adjust plans by driving by landmarks, stopping for photos, or trying Peking duck (meals at your cost). Option 6: Jinshanling Great Wall Hiking Jinshangling take a 2.5-hour drive from PEK (3.5hrs from PKX) to hike Jinshanling Great Wall, with entry ticket included; driver waits during your 2–3-hour hike. Option 8: Gubei Water Town + Simatai Great Wall (Perfect for night layovers—Simatai stands as the sole Great Wall section with year-round night opening hours)It takes 2.5 hours to drive from PEK (3.5 hours from PKX) to Gubei Water Town. You can wander its traditional streets, watch the evening water show (if available), and visit Simatai Great Wall to enjoy the glowing watchtowers and sweeping night vistas of the wall. Entry tickets for both attractions and round-trip cable car rides are included. For 7+ hours layover (PEK)/9+hours layover (PKX): Option 4: Mutianyu Great Wall Only. Visit Badaling Great Wall (1.5hrs drive from PEK, 2.5hrs from PKX) during its summer night session (entry ticket included) to avoid daytime crowds. Also, please note that the ticket price for the Forbidden City is not included 3: The maximum number of participants that can be booked is eight. 4: Beijing Daxing International Airport (PKX) is located outside the city, so trips departing from PKX will incur an extra cost.
