Options for layovers of 10+ hours (PEK) / 12+ hours (PKX) include:

• Option 1: Mutianyu Great Wall and Summer Palace. Visit the UNESCO-listed Mutianyu section (1.5 hours from PEK, 2.5 hours from PKX) and the Summer Palace. Tickets included; food and cable car at your own expense.
• Option 2: Mutianyu Great Wall and Temple of Heaven. Explore these sites with tickets included. Note: Not available on Mondays; nearby Pearl Market available for shopping.
• Option 5: Mutianyu Great Wall plus one customized city attraction such as Temple of Heaven, Summer Palace, Lama Temple, or Coal Hill Park. Tickets for the Great Wall and one downtown site included (except Forbidden City, which must be booked independently 7 days prior). Meals and cable car costs are extra.
• Option 6: Jinshanling Great Wall hiking. A 2.5-hour drive from PEK (3.5 hours from PKX) with entry included. The driver waits during your 2–3 hour hike.
