Description
In the morning, your local tour guide will pick you up at your hotel lobby, and then a comfortable chauffeur-driven minivan will transfer you to the Tiananmen Square, where you’ll take a walk and shoot photos of the brilliant landmark buildings.
Note: To enter Tiananmen Square quickly, especially during holidays, we suggest you leave your bag in the car and only carry passport and bottled water with you to go through the no-bag passage rather than waiting in long queues for security check.
Next, explore the Forbidden City, the largest and the most intact imperial palace complex that was home to 24 emperors from 1368 to 1911 AD. With your guide, visit the most essential palaces on the central axis and chambers on the two wings among its 9,999 rooms.
After a 1.5-hour drive, we will reach the Mutianyu Great Wall. Lunch is on your own choice. For your information, some fast food chains are available nearby, such as Burger King, Pizza Hut and Subway. Your local tour guide will show you the locations. The Chinese buffet here is not recommended. Then avoid the crowds to hike and take in the best-preserved and most popular Mutianyu Great Wall for at least 2.5 hours.
Finally, we’ll reach the Hutong alleys area featuring the scenic Houhai Lake surrounded by distinctive bars, cafes, and restaurants, and the typical alleyways full of the charm of old Beijing. You can get off here to explore freely and then return to your hotel by yourself; or your guide and driver will escort you back to your hotel directly.
