Choose between a day tour to the Great Wall at Badaling or the Ming Tombs, Summer Palace, Tian’anmen Square & Forbidden City, Badaling Ski Resort, or a night tour to enjoy the Longqing Gorge Lantern Festival.
Option 1: Badaling Great Wall and Longqing Gorge Lantern Festival
Meet your private guide and board an air-conditioned vehicle at your downtown Beijing accommodation. Your guide will share insights into the Great Wall’s history en route.
Badaling Great Wall, a strategically vital section of the Great Wall, is famed for the saying 'One man guards the pass, ten thousand cannot get through'. Take the cable car to the peak for panoramic views, then hike the wall for 2 hours.
After lunch head to Longqing Gorge. The ice and snow festival runs mid-January to late February, featuring over 400 themed ice sculptures by Chinese and foreign artists—illuminated at night for a magical visual feast.
Option 2: Ming Tombs and Longqing Gorge Day Tour
Meet your guide in your hotel lobby and travel north to the Ming Tombs, where you’ll visit Dingling—the only underground palace open to the public. Built for Emperor Zhu Yijun (the longest-reigning Ming emperor), its construction spanned 6 years and was completed in 1590. Your guide will detail Ming Dynasty history, the emperor’s life, and the era’s elaborate burial culture. After the tour, proceed to Longqing Gorge.
Option 3: Summer Palace and Longqing Gorge Day Tour
Meet your guide at your hotel and start with the Summer Palace—a well-preserved royal garden and a journey through time, art, and nature. Follow your guide to explore the garden’s iconic buildings, and hear stories of the famous 'Dragon Lady' and her life in this imperial retreat. Option 4: Tian’anmen Square & Forbidden City and Longqing Gorge Day Tour
Start your tour from Tian’anmen Square—one of the world’s largest public squares, home.
