Choose between a day tour to the Great Wall at Badaling or the Ming Tombs, Summer Palace, or a night tour to enjoy the Longqing Gorge Lantern Festival. Option 1: Badaling Great Wall and Longqing Gorge Lantern Festival (8 Hours) Following a pickup from your accommodation in Beijing city center at your selected time, meet your private guide and hop aboard your air-conditioned vehicle. Head directly to Badaling Great Wall. On the way, your guide will give you an explanation of the Great Wall and the related Chinese history and culture. The Badaling Great Wall is one of the most important parts of the Great Wall. This Great Wall was attached with great military importance. An old Chinese saying tells the crucial position of Badaling: if one man guards the pass, ten thousand cannot get through. The highest point of Badaling Great Wall is Beibalou, approximately 1,015 m above sea level. Upon arrival, take the cable car up to the highest point where you can overlook the entire area and take some nice photos. Spend 2 hours hiking on the Wall. After lunch at a local Chinese restaurant, head to Longqing Gorge. The Longqing Gorge ice and snow festival starts from mid-January and runs until the end of February. Over 400 ice sculptures, carved by both Chinese and foreign artists, are exhibited here. Each year has a different theme. When illuminated at night, these brilliant sculptures create a fantastic visual experience. Afterward, be transferred back to your hotel in Beijing. Option 2: Ming Tombs and Longqing Gorge Day Tour (8 Hours) After meeting your tour guide in the lobby of your hotel, head north to the Ming Tombs. You will visit the Dingling at Ming Tombs. The construction started when he was only 22, and it took 6 years to finish. It was completed in 1590. After he died, he was buried in Dingling with his two empresses. Your guide will give a detailed story about the Ming dynasty's history and tell the life story of the owner of this tomb. Be amazed by the complicated burial culture in the Ming Dynasty. Option 3: Summer Palace and Longqing Gorge Day Tour (8 Hours) After meeting your tour guide in the lobby of your hotel, your tour will start with a visit to a well-preserved royal garden: the Summer Palace.
