Meet our tour guide in your hotel's lobby. Then heading directly to Juyongguan Great Wall(1.5 hours drive). Your friendly tour guide will explain the related histories and stories along the way. Feel free to ask questions if you have. Upon arrival, follow your tour guide to hike up and down and explore different towers at Juyongguan. Juyong Pass was constructed with structures of various functions ensuring logistic supplies and effective management and governance. In the Yuan Dynasty (1272-1368), the Juyong Pass functioned as a major traffic artery from Beijing to Inner Mongolia. From the 14th to the early 20th century, a large number of temples and shrines of Buddhist, Taoist, and Confucianist origin were built in the Juyong Pass. After a delicious lunch in the local restaurant, continue to the Sacred Way of the Ming Tombs. Stroll along the Sacred Way, admire 18 pairs of marble figures lined up in antithesis which were erected over 500 years ago. Gain deep insight into the Fengshui theory which practiced here and learn more stories about the Ming Dynasty. Next, move on to the Dingling Tomb at the Ming Tombs. Construction of Dingling Tomb (定陵) started in 1584 and was finished in 6 years later. In 1620, Emperor Wanli (万历皇帝) was buried here with his two empresses. Discover the treasures found from the underground palace in the museums and walk into the underground palace to experience the massive tomb with five chambers. After the tour finished, you will be transferred back to your hotel in Beijing.
