Meet at Dongsi Subway Station Exit B at 6:00pm We start our food tour with a stroll through the quiet Hutong allays, listen, as your guide offers an intriguing insight into the Hutong’s rich history, and learn about the culinary traditions and history and the eating etiquette. Stop at several popular restaurants to sample the best local foods, such as 1: Sesame cakes - a cake made of sesame seeds, often combined with honey as a sweetener. 2: Ma hua- Fried Dough Twist 3: Soup dumplings 4: Beijing Jar yogurt 5: 'Cross Bridge' Rice Noodles - originating from the Yunnan province 6: Jianbin - fried pancake 7: A crispy fried ring-a popular household snack 8-11: Steamed Rice Cakes with Sweet Stuffing plus all kinds of Beijing local snacks 12: Malatang - a member of hot pot, consists of a spicy hot pot soup base with a variety of ingredients, such as vegetables, meats, seafood, and noodles. 13: Baijiu - a colorless Chinese liquor typically coming in between 35% and 60% alcohol by volume 14-15: Xinjiang Lamb Skewers - including Nang Bread and lamb/vegetable kabobs If you are adventure foodies, just let your guide know we have a lot of surprises such as: Donkey burger, Fried Liver, Intestine soup, 1000 Year Old Egg, Bamboo worm(at your cost cost) etc Our goal is to give you a taste of local life from a local’s perspective!
