Description

(1) Boarding and Gathering Please arrive at the Wanshousi Wharf at the designated time for gathering. Built in the 5th year of the Wanli reign of the Ming Dynasty, Wanshousi (Longevity Temple) is known as the 'Little Forbidden City in Western Beijing.' Combining temples, imperial palaces, and gardens, it now serves as the Beijing Art Museum. You may arrive early to experience the unique charm of this ancient temple. After gathering, professional guides will brief you on trip-related precautions and share the historical background of the Cixi Waterway, providing you with a deeper understanding of the upcoming exploration journey. (2) Boat Tour We will embark on the Cixi Waterway exploration by boarding a cruise ship. As the boat glides slowly, you will pass through scenic spots such as Guangyuan Sluice, Maizhong Bridge, and Changhe Sluice in sequence. During the voyage, guides will elaborate on the stories behind each attraction, making you feel as if you have traveled back in time to the bustling era of the past. You can also enjoy the natural scenery along both banks from the boat and savor the comfort of the gentle breeze. (3) Arrival at the Summer Palace Upon reaching the vicinity of Xiuyi Bridge on the West Causeway of the Summer Palace, you will have the opportunity to admire the unique elegance of Xiuyi Bridge up close. As the dividing line between Kunming Lake and the Long River, this bridge features a graceful design and exquisitely carved bridge body, making it highly ornamental. The cruise will then continue to dock near Nanhu Island (South Lake Island). You can disembark to visit ancient buildings such as the Dragon King Temple on the island and experience the solemnity and mystery of ancient royal sacrificial culture. Finally, the boat will arrive at the Marble Boat (Qingyanfang) on the west bank of Longevity Hill, concluding the boat tour. (4) Free Exploration in the Summer Palace The Summer Palace embodies the essence of Chinese garden art, consisting of two main parts: Longevity Hill and Kunming Lake, with exquisite architecture and numerous attractions. You can stroll along the Long Corridor to admire the superb Su-style color paintings; climb the Tower of Buddhist Incense to overlook the magnificent panoramic view of the Summer Palace; or visit historical relics such as Leshou Hall and Yulan Hall to learn about the historical events of the late Qing court.
