After pickup from your hotel in Beijing, drive to the Jiankou Great Wall. Hike for 3-4 hours with your guide, who will share interesting facts about the wall. The Jiankou section has more twists and turns as it wriggles up the mountain ridge. It has retained its original state without any restoration, and reveals beautiful imperfections.
Reach the Mutianyu Great Wall, the longest fully-restored section open to tourists. As one of the best-preserved parts of the Great Wall, the Mutianyu section used to serve as the northern barrier defending the capital and the imperial tombs.
After a long hike, choose to take a cable car down or slide down by toboggan (at your own expense). Or simply walk down. Then, enjoy a tasty lunch at a local restaurant. Finally, end your tour with drop-off at your hotel in Beijing.
