About the Cloisonné Museum
Located in Dongcheng District, Beijing, the museum showcases six centuries of royal craftsmanship. Cloisonné (copper-wire enamel) originated in the Yuan dynasty and flourished during the Ming’s Jingtai era, becoming a symbol of royal status. Collections include palace replicas, masterworks, and the national gift “Peace Vase,” blending Dunhuang motifs with exquisite enamel techniques.
As the sole national heritage base for Cloisonné craft, visitors witness artisans’ 108-step process, with deaf artisans achieving precision within 0.1mm. The museum also blends tradition with modern trends, offering enamel jewelry, Chinese Zodiac “Red” items, and cross-disciplinary tea sets, bringing ancient craftsmanship into contemporary life.
