If you have 2 days to spend in Beijing, this is the classic itinerary for you which you can cover all the highlights in Beijing. Day 1 Highlights: Tian’anmen Square, Forbidden City, Hutong area ( old city of Beijing) and Temple of Heaven Hotel pick up from your hotel Firstly drive to Temple of Heaven, the most holy place where emperors held sacrifice ceremonies to god of Heaven and all the other god of natures. This is the only temple for the emperors to hold ceremonies to the god of Heaven still exit s in China. Right now, it’s a social park for local beijingers, it’s the best place to experience the local life and culture. Yandai Byway, one of the oldest commercial streets of Beijing from Mongolian dynasty which still keeps traditional style beside the Jing-Hang canal, get a very good view of ancient neighborhoods with beautiful waters. Lunch near the Forbidden City or hutongs After lunch, drive to Tian’anmen Square, the iconic of Beijing. Walk through the Tian’anmen Square to the Forbidden City on the way to the Forbidden City, we will pass through 2 huge ancient imperial gates including the Tian’anmen gate. Enter into the Forbidden City which is the home for 24 emperors of dynasties and their families from 1420 to 1917, which 14 of Ming dynasty and 10 of Qing dynasty. Optional: the most exciting acrobatic show of Beijing. Which is 280RMB per person(Medium class area not the vip area) Drive you back to you hotel Day 2 Highlights: Mutianyu Great Wall, slide down or cable car, Summer Palace Hotel pick up Drive around 1.5 hours to the Great Wall at Mutianyu section. After we arrive at the parking lot, we need to take the shuttle bus to up hill to reach the entrance ticket check point. Take the chair lift up to reach the entrance of the Great Wall Once you are on the wall, you can climb up to Number 1 watch tower where is less crowded to get the best view of it. Climb down hill to the number 5 watch to exit the wall or keeps on walking from NO.5 watch tower further to the western side for more towers. Exit the Great Wall from NO.5 tower, take the exciting slide down of the hill. Lunch in the local town near the Great Wall After lunch drive 1 hour to the Summer Palace which the most imperial garden in China, where Qing Emperor Qianlong built for his mom as a birthday gift in 1750. It became Qing emperor Guang Xu’s prison in the end after the failure of Wuxu revolution in 1899. But it’s the most beautiful garden for entertainment for Empress Dowager Ci Xi.
