Description

Morning tour runs from 7:30am to 12:00pm and the afternoon tour is from 1.00pm to 5.30pm.  You will be picked up from your hotel lobby or you will be advised to the nearest hotel to meet with your tour guide.  The tour will contain 3 sections,  City Ride , City Walk and Hutong Meandering.  The tour will include visits to Wangfujing Street, Tienanmen Square and Beijing Hutongs.  Wangfujing Street is  the grandest shopping area in downtown Beijing, with modern shopping malls, such as the Oriental Plaza and the Wangfujing Department Store. It is also home to a wealth of hotels and specialty shops.  At night there is a snack street where you can enjoy the most authentic Beijing snacks. Tienanmen Square is the largest city plaza in the world. It is of great cultural significance because of several key events in Chinese history. A stroll at dawn is highly recommended. Many Chinese visitors come to see the flag lowering ceremony every day. Beijing Hutongs is a fundamental part of Beijing culture and history with its existence traced back to the Yuan Dynasty (1271-1368). The Hutongs in Beijing consists of numerous courtyards joined together. The history of the Hutongs is interesting as it demonstrates the social class status that existed in Beijing from the Ming Dynasty when the Forbidden Palace was the center. Nobles and rich merchants lived in luxurious courtyards situated in the east and west while commoners were located to the north of the palace.
