Description
Your journey begins at the Chairman Mao Memorial Hall, strategically located at the southern end of Tiananmen Square, a site that holds profound significance in China's modern history. Upon arrival, you will enter through the North Hall, the main entrance and a venue for memorial ceremonies. Here, a magnificent white marble seated statue of Chairman Mao greets you, exuding a serene and dignified aura. Behind the statue hangs a large-scale tapestry titled 'Motherland's Land', a stunning artwork that symbolizes Chairman Mao's eternal connection with the country's beautiful rivers and mountains.
From the North Hall, you will proceed to the Hall of Respect, the spiritual core of the memorial hall. In the center of this hall, Chairman Mao's remains lie in a crystal-clear crystal coffin, dressed in a gray Zhongshan suit and covered with the red flag of the Communist Party of China. The coffin is placed on a black granite platform inlaid with the Party emblem, national emblem, and military emblem, creating an atmosphere of profound reverence. You are invited to pay your respects in silence, reflecting on the historical era shaped by this great leader.
After visiting the Hall of Respect, you will move to the South Hall, the exit area. On the white marble wall of this hall, you can admire the gold-plated handwritten lyrics of Chairman Mao's poem 'Man Jiang Hong · In Response to Guo Moruo', a powerful piece that conveys the Chinese people's determination to build socialism and oppose hegemonism.
Additionally, the second floor of the memorial hall houses six revolutionary achievement memorial rooms dedicated to Mao Zedong, Zhou Enlai, Liu Shaoqi, Zhu De, Deng Xiaoping, and Chen Yun. These rooms showcase a wealth of precious photos, documents, and cultural relics, presenting a comprehensive picture of the Chinese revolution, construction, and reform process, as well as the glorious achievements of these great leaders. You can also visit the Education and Publicity Hall, where documentaries are screened to vividly demonstrate China's great leap from standing up to growing prosperous and becoming strong.
Throughout your visit, please adhere to the solemn code of conduct: maintain silence, remove your hat, turn off or silence your mobile phone, and avoid loud talking or laughing. It is also important to note that certain items, such as bags, cameras, tablets, water cups, and liquids, are not permitted inside the hall and must be stored at the baggage deposit office east of Tiananmen Square.
