Discover the majestic Badaling Great Wall, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Enjoy breathtaking mountain views, hike through ancient paths, and explore China's rich history. Experience beyond boundaries with a ticket to the Badaling Great Wall.
Arrive at the designated entrance of Badaling Great Wall and present your ticket to the staff. Admire the grandeur of Badaling's ancient architecture and stunning views.
Badaling Great Wall is located at the north entrance of the ancient mountain pass, Jundushan, in Yanqing District, Beijing. It is a crucial section of the Great Wall of China, known for its strategic importance and scenic beauty. Constructed in 1505 during the Ming Dynasty, it was later reinforced in the Jiajing and Wanli periods.
Badaling's unique trapezoidal structure features east and west gates, each with stone and brick structures and a platform connecting the wall. The eastern gate reads 'Juyong Outpost,' while the western gate is inscribed with 'Northern Gate Key.'
As a vital outpost of Juyongguan, Badaling is known as 'the danger of Juyong lies in Badaling.' It showcases the grandeur and steepness of the Great Wall, with towering peaks and rugged terrain. The wall at Badaling is typically 7.8 meters high and 6.5 to 7.5 meters wide at the base, narrowing to 4.5 to 5.8 meters at the top. From the pass to the South Fourth Tower, the wall stretches over 1600 meters, rising about 127 meters in height. Each 6 meters of length results in a 1-meter rise in elevation.
Visitors to Badaling can enjoy stunning views as the Great Wall winds across the mountains like a dragon. The scenery changes with the seasons: blooming flowers in spring, lush greenery in summer, colorful foliage in autumn, and snow-covered landscapes in winter.
