Description
Begin your tour at Qianmen Street, one of Beijing's oldest commercial pedestrian roads. Weave past Tiananmen Square and the spectacular National Grand Theatre. Then, climb Jingshan Park for a panoramic view over the Forbidden City's golden rooftops — one of the most iconic vantage points in all of China.
From there, wind into the living hutong neighborhoods surrounding Shichahai Lake and the charming Yandai Xie Street, a narrow alley lined with local shops and traditional storefronts. Continue north to the Bell Tower and Drum Tower, two 700-year-old landmarks that once marked Beijing's timekeeping center.
The bike will be returned to the starting point after the entire central axis tour is completed.
